Bridgewater Police Service have arrested Joseph Christopher McGREGOR with the assistance of Police Service Dog Davis after committing multiple violent offences in Bridgewater.

Joseph McGREGOR has been arrested after assaulting an adult female, uttering threats and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose.  Bridgewater Police Service obtained a Warrant of Arrest for Mr. McGREGOR, as he was not located after the assault was reported to police.  The involved parties are known to each other. 

On Monday, September 10th, 2018, Bridgewater Police Service located Mr. McGREGOR in the Glen Allen Subdivision area while at large on his Warrant of Arrest.  Mr. McGREGOR resisted arrest and was apprehended in the Eastside Plaza with assistance from Patrol members and Police Service Dog Davis.  Mr. McGREGOR sustained minor injuries when resisting police.  

Mr. McGREGOR has been charged for Uttering Threats and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose from and incident that occurred in July.  He has been charged for Assault and Uttering Threats for an incident that occurred on September 7th and Resisting Arrest on September 10th.  He appeared at Bridgewater Justice Centre this morning and was remanded to Provincial Custody to appear in court September 12th, 2018.

File # 2016-465255- Aggravated Assault, Criminal Negligence Causing Bodily Harm and Failing to Provide the Necessities of Life.

On July 14th, 2016, Bridgewater Police Service charged a 21 year old male and a 22 year old female from Bridgewater, in relation to an alleged child abuse investigation.

The charges are as a result of a three month police investigation conducted into serious injuries sustained to a baby.  

Both the male and female have been charged with one count of Aggravated Assault, one count of Criminal Negligence Causing Bodily Harm and one count of Failing to Provide the Necessities of Life.

The accused and the victim were all known to each other however, police are not releasing the names of the accused to protect the identity of the victim.

Both accused appeared in Bridgewater Court on July 14th, 2016 and have been released from custody pending their next court appearance on August 10th, 2016.

Bridgewater Police Service have charged six male youth with Distributing Intimate Images Without Consent as well as Possessing and Distributing Child Pornography.

Four, fifteen year old Bridgewater area youth and two, eighteen year old Bridgewater area youth were arrested and charged following a thirteen month long investigation by members of the Bridgewater Police Service General Investigation Section.

Over twenty female youth were identified during the investigation as allegedly having their intimate images shared without their consent and distributed to an online file sharing service.

The male youth have been released from custody and are expected to appear in Bridgewater Youth Court on August 17th, 2016 at 11 AM.
