Subject: Man charged following assault with a knife – FILE #2024-480743
BRIDGEWATER, NS – A man is facing multiple charges after a reported break-and-enter and assault with a knife in Bridgewater.
On April 12, 2024, Bridgewater Police Service received a 911 call from a residence on Aberdeen Road.
Police arrived at the scene and learned that a male had allegedly forced his way into an apartment with a knife and assaulted two female occupants inside. The male was known to the occupants.
The women in the apartment sustained no life-threatening injuries as a result of the incident.
The suspect was subsequently located and arrested in another apartment at the same location.
Kevin Bruce Himmelman faces the following charges:
- Two counts of assault with a weapon
- Two counts of uttering death threats
- Two counts of assault causing bodily harm
- Break-and-enter to commit an indictable offence
- Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
Himmelman was remanded in custody and is expected to appear at Bridgewater Provincial Court on Monday, April 15, 2024, at 9:30 a.m.
