Subject: Robbery (FILE #2023-814010)
BRIDGEWATER, NS – Bridgewater Police Service (BPS) is investigating a robbery that occurred around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2023, in the community’s south end.
A 17-year-old male was jumped and assaulted by four individuals wearing bandanas. Those responsible for the assault also are believed to have taken personal property from the victim.
The victim was subsequently treated at South Shore Regional Hospital for his injuries and released.
Police have identified and arrested two young males connected to the incident to date.
The first male has been charged with robbery and assault causing bodily harm. He will appear at Bridgewater Provincial Court on July 26, 2023, for plea.
The second male has been charged with robbery, assault causing bodily harm, and wearing a disguise with intent, and will also appear at Bridgewater Provincial Court on July 26, 2023, for plea.
Bridgewater Police are continuing to search for additional suspects and the investigation is ongoing.

DID YOU KNOW? THE RELEASE OF NAMES
In order for police to release the name of an individual facing a charge, the charge must be sworn before the Courts. Only at that time does the name of the individual become public information. If the charge has not yet been sworn in Court, the person’s name cannot be released.
There are also exceptions where names are not released, such as in circumstances involving youth who are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act or in matters where a publication ban may be issued by a judge.
