Subject: Search warrant executed (FILE #2023-346849)
BRIDGEWATER, NS – On Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at approximately 2 p.m., officers from the Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU), Criminal Intelligence Services Nova Scotia (CISNS), and Bridgewater Police Service (BPS) patrol and general investigation sections executed a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act at a residence on North Street in Bridgewater.
Resulting from the search, a 41-year-old male and 31-year-old female both face charges of possession for the purposes of trafficking cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking psilocybin, and possession of a prohibited weapon.
The male also faces an additional charge of possession of a weapon dangerous to public.
Both of the accused have been released on undertakings and are scheduled to appear at the Bridgewater Provincial Courthouse on May 24, 2023, for plea.
Police seized a quantity of cocaine, psilocybin (more commonly known as “magic mushrooms”), more than $5,000 in cash, a butterfly knife, as well as other knives and firearms.
The investigation continues and more charges are possible.
