Subject: Traffic stop leads to arrest and weapons seizure
BRIDGEWATER – On December 19, 2024, at approximately 10:40 a.m., Bridgewater Police Service (BPS) patrol officers attempted to stop a white SUV being driven in Bridgewater.
The driver of that vehicle did not stop and attempted to evade officers. He was stopped shortly after on Oak Street and controlled while trying to run away from the vehicle. During the arrest, police located a stun gun (prohibited weapon) concealed on the driver. Other weapons were also located inside the SUV within reach of the driver.
Tyler Mark Robarts faces the following charges:
- Flight from peace officer
- Two counts of fail to comply with release order (occupy driver seat)
- Two counts of fail to comply with release order (possess a weapon)
- Possession of prohibited weapon while prohibited by order
- Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
Robarts will appear at Bridgewater Provincial Court on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 9:30 a.m.
