Subject: Two charged with possession for the purposes of trafficking -- FILE 2024-402685
BRIDGEWATER, NS – A man and a woman were arrested and charged following a surveillance operation last week in Bridgewater.
On March 28, 2024, the South Shore Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU), with the assistance of Bridgewater Police Service, was conducting surveillance on suspected drug traffickers at the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre on North Park Street.
While carrying out surveillance, police observed on two separate occasions individuals known to be drug users approaching a vehicle occupied by Justin Ernst and Holly MacGregor. The parties were observed speaking for a brief period of time before conducting a hand-to-hand exchange with Ernst, who was in the vehicle’s driver seat. Following the exchange, the individuals who approached the vehicle quickly departed.
Police then conducted a stop of the vehicle, arresting both Ernst and MacGregor for possession for the purposes of trafficking. A search of the vehicle was conducted subsequently and a sum of cash, approximately one ounce of cocaine, pills, cell phones, a knife, scales, and other drug paraphernalia were located.
Ernst and MacGregor were later released on an undertaking. They are scheduled to appear in court in Bridgewater on June 5, 2024.
