POLICE COMMISSION STRATEGIC PLAN SURVEY
>>> Have your say on the priorities of the 2022-2025 Bridgewater Board of Police Commissioners Strategic Plan
In the Spring of 2022, the Bridgewater Board of Police Commissioners (BPC), with the support and input of Bridgewater Police Service and Town of Bridgewater staff, began working on a new strategic plan that will guide the commission and the focus of policing service priorities in Bridgewater for the next three years.
The BPC undertook an extensive internal planning exercise to craft the priorities that represent the four main areas of focus over the life of the plan. Those focus areas are:
Crime Reduction
Safe Community
Innovative Operations
Governance
Now, the Police Commission wants to hear from you! You can download your copy of the full draft strategic plan at www.bridgewaterpolice.ca/stratplan. Once you've had the opportunity to review the plan, you can follow the link on the same page to complete the online survey and provide your input on the priorities and the strategic plan.
YOUR VOICE COUNTS!
To ensure your thoughts and comments are captured and shared with the Police Commission before the final review of the plan, please take the time to complete the survey. The survey will remain open until Friday, September 30, 2022. You will not be asked to identify yourself at any time during the survey, but we ask the public to understand that any input received will be shared with the BPC, as well as BPS and Town staff, and may become part of the final version of the plan.
WHAT IS THE BRIDGEWATER BOARD OF POLICE COMMISSIONERS?
The Bridgewater Board of Police Commissioners has a critical role as a civilian governing body of Bridgewater Police Service.
The responsibilities of the Police Commission under the Police Act include providing civilian governance on behalf of Town Council in relation to the enforcement of law and working with the chief officer to set the priorities, objectives, and goals respecting police services in the community. The BPC includes three citizens, three representatives from Town Council, and one appointment made by the Nova Scotia Department of Justice.
