Police locate stolen SUV with replica handgun, drugs and cash (FILE #2026-1161491)
BRIDGEWATER – On August 11, 2026, at 8:10 am, Bridgewater Police Service (BPS) was alerted by Lunenburg District RCMP that an SUV’s occupants were involved in a firearms complaint in the Upper Branch area of Lunenburg County. The suspects had since left the altercation scene and were believed to be heading towards Bridgewater. BPS patrol, K9, Criminal Investigative Division (CID), Street Crime Enforcement and Criminal Intelligence Service of NS (CISNS) officers immediately secured all possible entry points while exploring possible identities and vehicle information.
During that unfolding investigation it was discovered that the SUV was stolen from a residence in First South. At 8:47 am officers intercepted the stolen vehicle at Highway 103, Exit 13 Carpool parking lot in Wileville. Due to the complaints’ information that a firearm was present, officers conducted a High-Risk traffic stop. The SUV occupants, two adult males and one adult female, were arrested without incident. Police recovered the stolen SUV, an imitation handgun, a quantity of cocaine, prescription medication, cash, scales and other drug paraphernalia.
The three adults have been released on Undertakings with conditions and will appear at Bridgewater Justice Centre on October 7th, 2026, for arraignment. The investigation continues and multiple theft, drug and weapon charges are pending.
