Pedestrian hurt in Dominion Street collision

A 46-year-old Alberta man was taken to hospital by ambulance after a vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision on the west side of town.
At about 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28, paramedics, volunteer firefighters and Bridgewater Police Service officers were called to the area of High Street and Dominion Street after a caller reported a vehicle had struck a pedestrian.
First-arriving responders found an injured man inside a nearby coffee shop. The injured pedestrian was intoxicated by alcohol and uncooperative.
Investigators learned the crash occurred when a pedestrian was crossing Dominion Street and a sport utility vehicle was turning left onto the road from a coffee shop parking lot.
The 55-year-old Lunenburg County woman driving the SUV was not injured.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
