Subject: Search warrant, release, and subsequent offences following release
BRIDGEWATER – On July 11, 2025, Bridgewater Police Service’s (BPS) Criminal Investigative Division and Patrol officers completed a Warrant to Search at a King Street residence.
A stun gun, ammunition, imitation handgun, brass knuckles, collapsible baton, cash, and drug paraphernalia were located inside the residence.
Stemming from the completion of the Warrant to Search, Cody Trimper faced the following charges:
- Uttering threats to cause bodily harm
- Two counts of possession of a prohibited device/weapon
- Four counts of possession of a prohibited weapon or ammunition while prohibited by order
- Two counts of possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
- Possession of a prohibited device without license
Trimper has been on a 10-year Firearms Prohibition Order since 2017. He is currently under a Lifetime Prohibited Device/Weapon ban.
Trimper was remanded to Provincial custody and appeared at Bridgewater Provincial Court on Monday, July 14, 2025, where he was released with conditions from the court. Conditions included remaining away from the Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) victim of the uttering threats charge.
On July 16, 2025, Bridgewater Police Service arrested Trimper after he assaulted the same IPV victim. Stemming from that incident, he faces these additional charges:
- Assault
- Administering a noxious substance
- Unlawful confinement
- Uttering threats to an additional party
- Possession of a weapon
- Two counts of breaching the release order issued on July 14, 2025
Trimper was held in police custody and is presently before the Bridgewater Provincial Court.
