PUBLIC UPDATE

This morning at approximately 11:23 a.m., a 911 call came in reporting a possible drowning in the LaHave River in Bridgewater.
Bridgewater Police Service, along with Bridgewater Fire Department, EHS, Northfield District Fire Department, and Dayspring and District Fire Department responded to the call.
The individual that was believed to have drowned was subsequently recovered at about 12:40 p.m. as a result of a search of the area.
The deceased is an adult Lunenburg County man. His body was recovered with the assistance of Bridgewater Fire Department and the Northfield District Fire Department underwater drone.
At this time, police believe there is no criminal nature to this incident, and the investigation is being treated as an accidental drowning.
The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner’s Office has been notified and will be assisting in the investigation.
